So, it’s been a minute (as my 15-year-old says).

If you follow me on social media, you may have seen my “Tip Tuesday.”

I realize that a lot of information is thrown at you everyday, and you may not get the chance to see or apply these tips. But I’ve been told they are pretty helpful mainly because they’re quick and actionable.

So, here are four quick tips you can start applying today: ⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Long before the pandemic we were taught to put our mask on first before assisting others. Well, Self-Leadership is like that.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So….Why is it important❓⠀

It’s pretty simple: How can you expect others to understand YOU if you don’t understand yourself ?

1.      Know your strengths. More importantly, your blind spots. (Those pesky areas that aren’t as obvious).

2.      Understand what triggers you. Was it a word or someone’s tone? How do you react and respond to stress?

3.      Own your s***. Don’t play the blame game. Be accountable to yourself and others.

4.      Take action and make decisions. What do you want the outcome to be and what do you need to get there?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you follow me, you know I believe self-awareness is the foundation of personal and professional growth. Knowing what makes you ‘tick,’ what motivates you, and how you react and respond is vital to becoming the leader you want to be. ⠀⠀⠀

Peter Drucker sums it up with this quote from Managing Oneself:

“Successful careers are not planned. They develop when people are prepared for opportunities because they know their strengths, their method of work, and their values.”

How effective would your team be if they were ALL Self-Leaders?

Well, it starts with you.
