Picture this: you’re comfortably seated, remote in hand, browsing through various Olympic events. Suddenly, one sport grabs your attention. According to the DISC Model of Human Behavior, each of us has a unique personality style, shaping our behaviors and preferences. Could your style—Dominant, Inspiring, Supportive, or Cautious—be the reason behind your choice?
Let’s embark on this exciting journey of self-discovery and find out which Olympic event resonates with your personality. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, a social butterfly, a team player, or a detail-oriented strategist, there’s an Olympic sport that perfectly matches your unique style. Are you ready to uncover it? Let the games begin!
If you are a D: Dominant Style….
You like danger and taking risks. Anything fast and furious gets your blood pumping. In these Summer Olympics, your DVR is set to watch hockey, handball, cycling, boxing, taekwondo, and maybe the fast sports of badminton or table tennis.
If you are an I: Influencer Style…
You love seeing the self-expression of athletes in their routines and the frenzy of the fans (and celebrities!) who follow the athletes influencing their sports. Your remote goes to gymnastics, artistic swimming, breaking, or BMX freestyle.
If you are an S: Supportive Style…
You get lost in the beauty and grace of sport. You appreciate the journey and stories of the athletes enjoying the team sporting events and their endurance to get to these games. (You’re crying; I’m not crying.) Consistency and perseverance are gold to you. You never miss gymnastics, soccer, diving, swimming, rowing, field hockey, or volleyball.
If you are a C: Cautious Style…
You appreciate the precision that leads to a perfect score. In gymnastics, you know the difference between the Yurchenko and the Amanar on the vault, and you see the quickest slips, which can be the difference between gold and silver. More than likely, these events are on the calendar even before the games begin: gymnastics, diving, swimming, surfing.
So, did I nail your Olympic sport based on your DISC profile? Whether you’re cheering for the fast-paced excitement of sprinting, the dynamic flair of gymnastics, the harmonious teamwork of rowing, or the precision of archery, your personality is a perfect match in the world of Olympic events. Next time you tune in, you’ll know why that sport keeps you on the edge of your seat. Now, embrace your inner athlete—because, in the grand arena of life, we all have our gold medal moments!🥇
My blend is S-C/I. When it comes to sports, I love team sports & I tend to be more D in my behavior. I’m the short guy who loves showing taller guys that I can be elusive but deliver an unexpected big hit. The soft spoken, caring guy that some see as a pushover is nowhere to be found. He can be found again after the competition is over off the field of play.
Sounds like you like to take charge in the game!
Thanks Gordon! It’s great that you recognize that and can adapt your behavior accordingly.
I didn’t watch the Olympics, but I do watch football games and notice how well the team and the crowd’s energy affects their performance. And I do love the DISC profile! 4 styles is a lot easier to remember than 16.
I’m glad you agree! Thank you Frank.
